Ella Morton is a Canadian visual artist living in Toronto. Originally from Vancouver, she earned a BFA from Parsons The New School for Design in New York in 2008, and an MFA from York University in 2015. Her exhibition record includes solo shows at Gallery 1313 in Toronto, Viewpoint Gallery and Ross Creek Centre for the Arts in Nova Scotia, Photo Center Northwest in Seattle, and Alternator Centre for Contemporary Art in Kelowna. She has also completed public art projects with Nocturne: Art at Night in Halifax, The Crying Room Projects in Vancouver and Land-Shape in North Jutland, Denmark. Her work has been featured in the Untapped Emerging Artists Competition, as part of The Artist Project Contemporary Art Fair, and Contact Photography Festival. In 2016, she participated in The Arctic Circle residency in Svalbard, Norway, and is currently developing new work from this expedition.
